Who we are
Camlin Speech is a product of Nuamedia, ABN 57 153 868 949 (“we”, “us”). You can contact us about anything in this policy at contact@nuamedia.com.au.
What this policy covers
This policy covers the public Camlin Speech demonstration website at speech.camlinconnect.com.au, including the live speech-recognition and voice-synthesis demonstrations and the contact, signup and purchase enquiry forms. It does not cover the Camlin Speech API service supplied under a customer agreement, which has its own terms.
Microphone audio in the demonstrations
- The Recognise, Live and Transcribe demonstrations use your microphone only while you are recording; the browser indicates when the microphone is active, and you can stop it at any time.
- Audio you record is sent to our servers in the Sydney, Australia (AWS ap-southeast-2) region to produce a transcript, and the transcript is returned to your browser.
- Demonstration audio and transcripts are never stored: audio is decoded in memory, discarded once your transcript is produced, and our server logs never contain what you said or typed. We do not use demonstration audio or transcripts to train our models, sell them, or disclose them to third parties.
- Text you type into the voice-synthesis demonstration is used only to generate the requested audio and is not stored; the generated clips are deleted from our servers within minutes.
Information you give us on forms
- Contact form: name, email, company and your message — delivered to Nuamedia so we can respond.
- Signup form: name, email, company, use case — recorded in our CRM so we can follow up about a demonstration or evaluation.
- Purchase enquiry: name, work email, organisation, selected plan — recorded so we can respond commercially. We do not collect card or payment details on this site.
We use this information to respond to you and for no other purpose. It is handled by Nuamedia directly and is not sold or shared with third parties, other than the service providers who host our infrastructure (Amazon Web Services, Sydney region).
Information collected automatically
Our infrastructure records standard request logs — IP address, requested page, browser user agent, response status and timing — retained for up to 90 days for security and reliability. We use these logs to operate and protect the service, including investigating misuse.
This site sets no analytics or advertising cookies. The only cookies in use are those strictly necessary for the operation of authenticated (staff-only) areas, which are not set on the public site.
We measure how the site is used with our own first-party, cookieless analytics: our server counts page views and demo interactions against a pseudonymous identifier derived from your IP address and browser type using a salt that is discarded daily, so the identifier cannot be linked across days and we never store your IP address or full browser details. Your IP address is also used, at the moment your browser makes a request, to look up an approximate location (country, state and city) in a geolocation database held on our own servers; only those three place names are kept and the IP address is discarded. No analytics data is sent to any third party, everything stays in our Sydney AWS environment, and browsers sending a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal are excluded entirely. What you say or type into the demonstrations is never included in analytics.
Disclosure and storage
- Processing and storage occur in Australia (AWS Sydney region).
- We disclose personal information only: to our hosting providers as above; where you have asked us to; or where required by law.
- We do not disclose personal information to overseas recipients in the ordinary operation of this site.
Access, correction and complaints
You may request access to or correction of the personal information we hold about you, or make a privacy complaint, by emailing contact@nuamedia.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable period. If you are unsatisfied with our response you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
Changes
We will post any changes to this policy on this page with a new version number and effective date.
